Abstract

This study investigates the effect of mentorship and support programmes on job satisfaction within Commissions in Kenya. Using an explanatory research design, the study targets employees from various Commissions across the country. A sample of 350 respondents was selected through stratified and simple random sampling methods. Data were collected using a self-administered questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics with SPSS software. The hypotheses were tested using hierarchical regression analysis. The findings revealed that mentorship and support programmes (ß = .102, p > .05) do not significantly influence job satisfaction. The findings revealed a non-significant relationship between mentorship and support programmes and job satisfaction. These results suggest that while mentorship is critical for employee development, its direct influence on job satisfaction may be limited. The paper concludes with recommendations for enhancing mentorship initiatives to better meet the needs of employees.
